WorkInterior fit-out
Samani Construction
Fit-out and joinery house, established 1997. A portfolio that carries nearly three decades of work.

The problem
A firm that has fitted out East Africa’s leading hotels and private clubs since 1997 was being judged, by anyone who searched for it, against contractors with a fraction of that record. Nearly three decades of work existed only in the memories of the people who commissioned it.
The approach
- Led with the record rather than the service list — since 1997, hotels, private clubs and homes, four countries — because longevity is the strongest signal in this trade.
- Built the site around finished interiors at scale, so the craft is legible before a word is read.
- Made a point of the in-house joinery workshop in Nairobi, the real differentiator against firms that subcontract every element.
- Chose a restrained, editorial treatment appropriate to the standard of the spaces — a fit-out house cannot present its work in a template.
The outcome
The firm now has something to send a hotel group or architect before the first meeting, and it argues the case a portfolio PDF never quite managed.
